Friday Food Finds – Clio Greek Yogurt Bar Review

Clio Greek Yogurt Bars – Indulge in a flavor forward treat where spectacular and practical collide! Earlier this summer, Clio Snacks introduced the first of it’s kind portable greek yogurt bar. These perfectly-portioned bars are stuffed with creamy, whole-milk Greek yogurt and then covered in a dense layer of delectable dark chocolate. Is your mouth watering yet?

About Clio Snacks:

“At Clio, we believe in snacking clean without compromise. So we created the perfect all treat, no cheat snack . . . Clio Greek yogurt bars. Dark chocolate on the outside. Greek yogurt in the middle. In other words, the gateway to your soul. Because why eat Greek yogurt, when you can eat Greek yogurt covered in dark chocolate? In other words, Clio isn’t a snack bar, it’s a genius bar.”

Clio Greek Yogurt Bars come in six gluten-free flavors:

  • Vanilla
  • Strawberry
  • Blueberry
  • Hazelnut
  • Honey
  • Espresso

Clio Snacks combine the nutritional benefits of whole milk greek yogurt(with no rBST) and pairs it with billions of gut healthy probiotics. Each snack sized bar has between 140-150 calories, 8-9g protein, 12-13g carbs and 6-7g fat. Even with the generous layer of dark chocolate coating, each bar only contains 10 grams of sugar.

No spoon, no problem! Clio bars are portable enough to enjoy on the go, pack in your purse or add as a special treat in your lunchbox. Just be sure to keep them cold or on ice. Especially in the summer heat.

Here’s how they tasted!

Vanilla

These perfectly portioned bars legitimately taste like creamy cheesecake wrapped in chocolate. When you break one in half, they sort of remind you of a frozen bonbon type of dessert. The vanilla flavor shines through with every bite with some tanginess from the greek yogurt. The texture is so creamy and silky. So far so good!

Hazelnut

Slightly reminiscent of a Ferrero Rocher chocolate truffles(who remembers those?), hazelnut and chocolate together is such a timeless combination. The hazelnut flavoring itself is quite subtle which worked quite well with the tanginess from the greek yogurt. Absolutely delicious!

Blueberry

I’m one who typically prefers to pair white chocolate with blueberry. However in this case, it turned out to be such a delicious pairing. The sweetness from the chocolate and the tartness from the blueberry works so well together. If you love chocolate covered blueberries, this treat is sure to delight your taste buds!

Strawberry

The brightness from those strawberries really packs a special punch. Perhaps the tartest of the flavors, but not in a bad way. The tang from the yogurt is perfectly balanced by the sweetness from the strawberry jam. So silky and creamy! This legitimately tasted like a chocolate covered strawberry cheesecake bite.

Espresso

I’m into all things coffee flavored so Espresso was the perfect afternoon pick me up! Coffee and chocolate together is such a magical combination. Each tiny bite of heaven was slightly reminiscent of the Coffee and Cream Chocolate Supreme cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Pure bliss with every bite!

Honey

For my old school yogurt friends who enjoy the simplicity of drizzling fresh honey onto plain yogurt, this flavor was created for you. Honey has a reputation for being cloyingly sweet at times. Clio managed to keep the honey flavoring sweet and subtle with Greek yogurt as the predominant flavor. Definitely a top favorite!

Overall, I enjoyed all 6 flavors. However, the standouts for me were Strawberry, Hazelnut, Honey and Espresso. If the Clio Team is looking for new flavor suggestions, I would love to see one in lemon, salted caramel and even perhaps a toasted marshmallow flavor. And, please do not rule out the possibility of using a white chocolate coating versus dark chocolate either!

You can find these healthy treats in the refrigerated section of your local Whole Foods, Walmart, Harris Teeter and Shop Rite. For more information and to learn more about Clio Snacks, visit them online.

  1. Excellent, thorough reviews as always! Glad that the hazelnut, in particular, gets your seal of approval. I heard about these from Hungry Girl, but your review solidified my opinion of the brand 😄💗.

    • Thank you Liz! I’ll have to check out Hungry Girl’s podcast to see what she thought! If you try them, I highly recommend freezing them and enjoying them that way!

  2. Such a great review, Wendy! I first thought they were more of a frozen ice cream bar rather than in the refrigerated section…good to know. I love that they did a honey one. Though I bet I’d try the hazelnut one first! Definitely room to add to the product line so many possibilities.

    • Thanks so much Jo! I thought so too until I tried them! Honey was a surprise for me but hazelnut is pretty amazing too!

  3. These are amazing! Only a couple flavors at my local Walmart though. Please bring more! I clear out the shelf every time!

    • Hi Danny! I”m glad you agree! I have to drive 45 minutes to find Clio! Definitely worth the drive IMO! Which flavors are your favorite?

  4. I tried the vanilla and loved it!! All I can think of when I was eating it was that it reminded me of cheesecake!! Delicious!!!!
