Friday Food Finds- Mad Hectic Oatmeal

Hello and Happy Friday! Welcome to this week’s edition of Friday Food Finds! If you are new to my blog- welcome! Every Friday I review new to me products that I’m excited to share with my readers and clients! In this week’s Friday Food Finds,  I am sharing my review of Mad Hectic Oatmeal.

 

MAD HECTIC OATMEAL

I recently discovered Mad Hectic Foods Oatmeal while browsing Instagram.  Mad Hectic Oatmeal is not your everyday oatmeal.They combine organic oatmeal and protein powder, along with other ingredients such as organic flaxseed meal, organic sesame seeds, freeze-dried fruit and tree nuts, to create a more balanced food with much more protein, fiber and flavor.

They currently offer seven oatmeal flavors. I was sent the French Chocolate, Strawberry Pecan and Red Raspberry to try. At Mad Hectic Oatmeal, they use only high-quality freeze dried strawberries and raspberries that are all natural, non-GMO  and absolutely no additives, preservatives or sweeteners. Each of their flavors gives you an incredible 840 mg of omega-3 per serving! What I like best about this oatmeal is that it’s so easy to make! You simply add water or your favorite dairy free milk and in one minute you have a warm and tasty bowl of oatmeal!

“A few years ago, Beth Gallo started a specialty food company that she never dreamed would resonate with so many different types of people.

Mad Hectic Oatmeal is a personal recipe she developed for herself after turning forty and surviving breast cancer. (She’ll be 12 years cancer free this October!) She started looking more closely at her life and realized that although she had been meaning to change her diet for a long time, she hadn’t done much about it. She needed to find a realistic way to add specific, healthy ingredients into her diet every day. It needed to be quick, packed with nutrition, and great-tasting too.

The most logical place to make an easy and significant change seemed to be breakfast. Mornings can be one of the most chaotic times of the day. Describing it as “Mad Hectic” is often an understatement! Many times, everyone goes in different directions and is often out the door without breakfast.

So she started mixing… one ingredient after another, each one carefully selected for its health benefits. After several years, she came up with a mix that we now affectionately call “Mad Hectic Oatmeal!”

 

French Chocolate

FRENCH CHOCOLATE OATS

Chocolate…for breakfast anyone!  This oatmeal has high high quality chocolate from France and is packed with 17 grams of protein,  34 grams of carbs and 5 grams of fiber. I had to take a picture of just the dry oats so you could see the mini chocolate chips! I love the flavor so much that I even tried sprinkling it over yogurt – delish!

 

I made a batch of Overnight Oats with the French Chocolate Oatmeal. Overnight oats are so easy and convenient when you’re on the go and need something healthy. I definitely prefer eating mine chilled during the summer. I’m sharing this recipe since it took all but 5 minutes to prepare- who doesn’t have 5 minutes to spare! The French Chocolate flavor is my top pick for Friday Food Finds!

Ingredients
  • ½ cup Mad Hectic Oatmeal French Chocolate
  • ½ cup plain non-fat greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup cashew milk
  • 4 drops vanilla stevia
  • 1 TBS mini chocolate chips, for garnish
Instructions
  1. Add greek yogurt and cashew milk to a medium sized mason jar.
  2. Stir until well combined.
  3. Gently add your ½ cup of oats.
  4. Add 2-4 drops vanilla stevia.
  5. Add a few mini chips on top.
  6. Allow your oats to chill overnight.
  7. Enjoy the next day!

 

Raspberry Almond

Raspberry Almond is one of their most popular flavor.  Lots of bright red raspberries and almonds! The nutritional stats are not too shabby either with 14 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber, and 840 mg of omega-3 per serving.  I made Raspberry Almond Oatmeal cookies. This recipe took 15 minutes from start to finish! Who doesn’t love a good oatmeal cookie! I mashed half of a banana with 1/2 cup of the oatmeal and formed two cookies. They took 12 minutes to bake and less than 5 minutes to devour!

Strawberry Pecan

The taste of summer strawberries all year round! Freeze-dried to retain all their wonderful, nutritional value. 13 grams of protein and 840 mg of omega-3 per serving.  I made a Strawberry Pecan baked oatmeal.   I allowed it to cool slightly and topped it with some fresh strawberries. Next time I plan to add some fresh vanilla yogurt on top!

I can honestly say that I enjoyed all 3 flavors. If you’re looking to shake up your morning breakfast and try something new, I recommend checking them out!
