Friday Food Finds- Made in Nature Product Review

Good morning! It’s Friday and I am pumped for the 3 day weekend! In this week’s Friday Food finds, it’s all about snacking smarter with Made in Nature.

Made in Nature is a Boulder, Colorado based company. Their expanding product line includes Organic Kale Chips, Organic Ancient Grain Fusions, Organic Dried Fruit Snacks and Dried Fruit Fusions.

The Made in Nature Promise:

“We do it because we love food and organic food simply tastes better. We do it to celebrate that moment when you eat something so sensational, so overwhelmingly delicious, that your mouth simply wants to applaud! We do it to inspire your culinary creativity and to help you discover how to elevate the nutrition and taste of your favorite recipes with our bold fruit flavors.”

The awesome team at Made in Nature sent me a generous assortment of their products to try. Let’s jump into my review!

Kale Chips are all the rage right now and when you don’t have time to make your own, these Rosemary Truffle Kale Chips from Made In Nature hit the spot. The combination of fresh, organic kale, rosemary and white truffle oil totally fulfilled my crunchy cravings. The Rosemary Truffle Kale chips hands down are the best kale chips I have ever tasted!

I used two of the products for this dinner. Salmon pairs extremely well with spicy flavors. I took some of the Sriracha Chili Kale chips and used them as a coating on my fish. I paired my salmon with the Southwest Ancient Grains Supersides. These packets take 90 seconds in the microwave – that’s it! The Southwest flavor is an Organic 7- Grain and Legume Blend of Organic Red Beans, Organic Black Beans, Organic Brown Rice, Organic Black Rice, Organic Red Quinoa, Organic Amaranth, Organic Canahua. Very tasty and complimentary with my fish!

I paired the Cuban Mojo Ancient Grain Fusion with some grilled scallops. The Cuban Mojo can be described as “Traditional Cuban flavors fused with the sweet breeze of the Tropics. A savory combination of sweet coconut milk and cilantro paired with a Latin kick of roasted red pepper and garlic.”

Let’s talk cookies, specifically mango oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I used the Made in Nature Organic Dried Mangoes to make this new twist on oatmeal cookies. From the dried mangoes to the chocolate chips to the oats, these cookies have a lot going on in the texture and flavor departments. The dried mangoes add a touch of chewiness and fruitiness while the chocolate chips adds just the right amount of sweetness! This recipe will make 15 cookies. Enjoy!

The small packs of Made In Nature Super Berry Fusions are just the perfect size to bring along in my purse or lunch bag. The Super Berry blend is organic tart cherries, blueberries, cranberries, raisins and goji berries. Pepita seeds make a nice crunch to the mix. They make perfect toppers for salads, greek yogurt, oatmeal or just straight out of the bag! The Fruit Fusions are non-GMO, certified organic, vegan, kosher, and made without added sugar, sulfur dioxide, tree nuts, fertilizers, pesticides, artificial color or additives.

Overall, my favorites were the Kale Chips! I enjoy making my own but the convenience and flavor of the Rosemary Truffle and Sriracha has convinced me otherwise. The Ancient Grain Fusion packets will definitely become part of my weekly meal planning rotation. I will be seeking out two of their other flavors- Thai Coconut and Moroccan Bazaar.

  1. Ooh, the Made in Nature products sound great! I love that you used the kale chips as a fish topping, and incorporated the dried mango into the delicious cookie recipe. Yum to all! Wishing you a happy healthy, fun long weekend, Wendy! xo

    • Hi Liz- The cookie recipe came to me in the middle of the night! HAHA- I always think of things as I sleep! Mango adds such a nice taste of sweetness! I hope you enjoyed the long holiday weekend! xo!

    • Hi Jody! I thought the cookie queen would approve! You can certainly swap out the dried mango for any other dried fruit you have on hand or leave it out completely!
