Happy Friday friends! Today, I’m sharing my review for the five new Enlightened Ice Cream flavors. Initially, I reviewed three of the new flavors on Instagram. Since then, I have re-scooped a few and decided to put together a full review to recap my entire experience. Prepare for Enlightenment!
Cookies & Cream
The first flavor I tried was Cookies & Cream. Super creamy and loaded with small bits of chocolate sandwich cookie pieces this flavor did not disappoint! I know, your thinking cookies & cream, what’s so original about that. The team at Enlightened has been working on this flavor for years. It definitely paid off and they nailed it with this flavor. This reminded me of the Cookies & Cream blizzard from Dairy Queen. Although the cookie pieces are small, they sure are plentiful. After re-scooping this pint and comparing it to some of the other protein based cookies & cream pints I’ve had in the past, I have since changed my initial rating from 8/10 to 9/10.
Calling all of my breakfast lovers! What could be better than all of the warm flavors of savory and sweet homemade French Toast packed into a cold and creamy treat! Talk about taking me back to those cozy and lazy Sunday mornings savoring a stack of maple drizzled French Toast. Just look at all of those swirls of buttery maple syrup throughout my bowl and pint. With a cinnamon flavored ice cream base and no shortage of buttery maple syrup swirls, I rate this flavor a solid 8.5/10. A treat that I will indulge in quite often!
This flavor has a rich, creamy vanilla base with a generous portion of rainbow sprinkles and rich chocolate frosting swirls throughout the pint. I do however struggle to pick up on any of the glazed donut flavor. To be honest, this tasted more like a birthday cake flavored ice cream. It’s not overly sweet but will satisfy your sweet tooth. Based on the name alone, I would need to fairly rate this a 6/10. However, I must give Team Enlightened major kudos for the generous amount of rich chocolate frosting swirls and colorful sprinkles thoughout.
After hearing so much hype about this flavor on social media, I was most excited to try Movie Night. I’m not sure what kind of magic Enlightened worked, but this ice cream actually tastes like buttered popcorn covered in caramel. The caramel ribbons and mix-ins are more than plentiful and you do not have to dig through the pint to find any of the good stuff. It’s loaded! The mini chocolate chips thrown in are such a fun touch! This flavor is dangerously delicious and a must try for the sweet and salty fans, I rate this a solid 9.5/10.
The Enlightened website described this flavor as “toasted marshmallow ice cream with graham crackers and chocolate swirls.” The description could not be more spot on. Though this ice cream looks deceivingly like vanilla, you can bet your bottom dollar it is rich, creamy, and full of toasted marshmallow goodness! This was packed with tons of soft graham cracker pieces and chocolate swirls throughout the pint. This flavor was just s’morevelous- is that even a word? I rate S’mores a solid 8.5/10.
To recap my favorites in order of preference; Movie Night, Cookies & Cream, S’mores & French Toast(tied) and Glazed Donut. Odds are, one or more of these flavors will be in you favor!
Have you tried any of the new Enlightened ice cream flavors yet? Which is your favorite? Please share – I would love to hear from you!
