Happy Friday friends! This week I’m sharing my review for ProNutz pistachios! If you’re not familiar, read on! These are quite the tasty little treats!
Here is how it all started!
Shauna Ahmadian, created Pronutz to replace unhealthy, preservative packed junk food in her own diet with a healthier option that would still satisfy her sweet tooth. How she put the “NUTZ” in PRONUTZ? The concept began at her family’s Pistachio farm in California and soon progressed to the test kitchen where she created, tasted and approved her first two signature flavors, Chocolate and Yogurt. How she put the “PRO” in PRONUTZ? Stemming from her own dietary needs she researched and approved a small dose of probiotics in the coating to boost immune health and aid in healthy digestion. Pistachios are notoriously named the skinny nut, with lower stats than it’s other nutty counterparts, it’s guiltless and delicious. Shauna continues evolving her passion for her probiotic coated pistachios, with new flavors due to release in 2016.
Let’s jump into my review!
Chocolate covered pistachios! Do I really need to say any more? It’s kind of like a chocolate covered peanut, but way better! These really satisfied my sweet tooth too.
I made some Chocolate Cocoa Pistachio balls with the chocolate flavor. I’ll be happy to share this recipe in a later post if requested. To be honest, this recipe took me a whole 10 minutes to make with some simple ingredients I had on hand in my pantry!
Next up was the Yogurt Covered!
These yogurt-covered pistachios are honestly amazing! They also have the perfect amount of sweetness. These were the perfect accompaniment to my avocado chocolate mousse bowl! It added some sweet and salty crunch!
It didn’t stop there! I made a White Cake Batter Pistachio Protein bar next!
I used Sweet It VitaFiber liquid along with a scoop of De Novo Nutrition White Cake Batter protein powder and a tablespoon of the yogurt pistachios that I crushed. I enjoyed this sweet and salty bar with my morning cup of coffee as a snack.
ProNutz yogurt pistachios are also perfect when added to cookie batter!
Try this super simple recipe for White Cake Pistachio Protein Cookies. Add 1 scoop De Novo Nutrition White Cake protein powder(or your favorite vanilla protein powder), 4 TBS coconut flour, 1 egg, 1 tbs nonfat plain Greek yogurt, 1/2 tsp baking powder and 1/4 cup water into a mixing bowl. Mix well and stir in 1.5 TBS crushed yogurt pistachios. Divide your batter up into 6 even sized dough balls. Place your cookies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Flatten slightly. Bake for 12 minutes at 350 degrees.
