Friday Food Finds: Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin!

Happy Friday friends! It’s officially fall, which means leaves are changing colors, the weather is cooling and pumpkins are everywhere! Fall is my favorite time of the year and the perfect excuse to start purchasing everything that has Pumpkin in it!

In this week’s Friday Food Finds, I’m sharing some new and fun pumpkin finds.

Big bright orange pumpkins at the autumn marketplace.

PUMPKIN BREADPumpkin Bread: I was torn between the Giant brand and Pepperidge Farms. I went with this one since the nutritional stats were awesome. This bread has the perfect density for an overnight french toast bake( hint hint- recipe for October!) I also plan on making some sweet and savory grilled cheese sandwiches with this bread!

NATURE'S PROMISE PUMPKIN SPICE SAUSAGENature’s Promise Pumpkin Sausage: Pumpkin and sausage? Seriously? To my surprise, it wasn’t bad – it tasted very similar to other chicken sausages that aim to be a little sweet. This one gets some heartiness from a subtle undertone of pumpkin. I did use some of them in a frittata I made. The sausage would also make a great pizza topping!

Pumpkin puffinsBarbara’s Bakery Pumpkin Puffins: Find these and buy 12 boxes!!! Seriously, I love this cereal and unfortunately so does my hubby! I had to hide my boxes since I wanted it to last more than 2 days! I found mine at Target.  This is my top pick for this week’s Friday Food Finds!

Giant Pumpkin Pasta Sauce This Pumpkin Pasta sauce is one of the products that I will be grabbing a few more of before they are done for the season. It can be fall year round with this sauce! I love that the first ingredient is Pumpkin puree.

Although I love the convenience of using a jarred pasta sauce, I thought I would share my own healthier version with all of you! You can make one batch or double it!  I used mine to top off a spaghetti squash pasta dish. I hope you give it a try!Pumpkin Pasta
