Friday Food Finds – Revelé Whipped Gelato Review

Happy Friday friends! Friday’s are more exciting when they involve ice cream or in this case whipped gelato! This is not your ordinary ice cream, Revelé Whipped Gelato is the first super premium low calorie gelato on the market. I’ve had my fair share of ice cream so I was curious as to what sets them apart from the rest of the frozen dessert companies out there. After connecting with the company on social media, they were kind enough to send a few pints my way to review!

What is Revelé Whipped Gelato…

Revelé starts with premium gelato ingredients and whips them a little bit more so it’s naturally lighter in calories, fat, and sugar. They use real sugar and no sugar alcohols or substitutes that can often leave you feeling quite bloated. Revelé is also free from lactose. gluten and contain zero artificial colors or flavors. A serving size runs 80-90 calories, depending on the flavor, and carries only 4 grams of fat and 5-6 grams of sugar. You can enjoy a whole pint for less than 400 calories!

Revelé is available in six flavors: Vanilla Symphony, Cake Batter, Belgian Chocolate, Seasonal Strawberries, Coffee Toffee Crunch, and White Chocolate Raspberry.

I was sent four of the six to try: Belgian Chocolate, Cake Batter, Vanilla Symphony and Coffee Toffee Crunch.

Revele Whipped Gelato, friday food finds, product review

I thought I would show you what the inside of the pints look like. Considering my gelato had to travel from California to get here in North Carolina, they arrived perfectly. No iciness at all which you can often experience with ice cream when it’s shipped. It looks super creamy and whipped just from the top of the pint. The key to enjoying Revelé is to take it out of the freezer for 20 minutes before eating. This gives the ice cream a chance to thaw a bit to a creamy consistency. If you’re too impatient to wait 20 minutes, pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds before eating!

Grab your spoon and let’s dig in!

Cake Batter

Cake Batter ice cream seem to be all the rage right now, so I couldn’t wait to dig into this one! Super creamy with a mousse like consistency, vanilla is the overwhelming flavor. It smells and tastes like a plain cake base, but something is just slightly off. The idea behind the flavor is there, but I think it could definitely use an additional component to set off the cake batter flavor. Maybe an icing swirl or some fun sprinkles would help differentiate this from a plain vanilla base. This flavor definitely has a lot of potential.

Vanilla Symphony

If I’m going to have vanilla ice cream, I typically prefer soft serve. That said, I was pleasantly surprised by Vanilla Symphony. This is not your plain old vanilla ice cream. What makes Vanilla Symphony deliciously different is that the recipe is batched with an exotic blend of vanilla beans and seeds from Madagascar, Tahiti, and Mexico. The result was a bold, yet fresh vanilla flavor that was not overpowering at all. The base flavor is delicious on it’s own however; I could not resist adding some fun sprinkles on top!

Belgian Chocolate

With a rich, dark chocolate base, Belgian Chocolate is amplified by bits of chocolate that are scattered generously throughout the pint. The bits of chocolate, while small in size, add a nice texture to this already creamy gelato. Belgian Chocolate was pretty amazing and hands down my favorite flavor. I can definitely see myself revisiting this pint again soon!

Coffee Toffee Crunch

Coffee flavored ice cream has been a long time favorite of mine. Add in some crunchy toffee bits and I’m a goner! Made with fresh brewed coffee, this flavor was mixed with a generous amount of crunchy toffee bits. If coffee isn’t your thing, you may want to skip this one. For someone enjoys more than her fair share of coffee on the daily, this was right up my alley. I bet a scoop of this would be awesome in my morning coffee!

Revele Gelato, Vanilla Symphony, product review

For something deliciously different, I would recommend trying Revelé ! My favorite flavors in order of preference; Belgian Chocolate, Toffee Coffee Crunch, Vanilla Sympony and Cake Batter.

Since Revelé is not yet widely distributed, I would highly recommend checking availability through their online store locator or even pre-oredering through their website.

  1. I can always count on you for 100% honest reviews – THANK YOU. Been waiting for your take on these pints, since I’ve been skeptical of some other reviews on them. Never tried the pints before, but I’d be down for the chocolate one based on your opinion! Yum! Happy Friday, my dear friend XOXO

    • Happy Friday Liz! I do have to say, I was disappointed in Cake Batter. I was really hoping for a more intense cake flavor. Belgian Chocolate would definitely be worthy trying! Have an awesome weekend my friend! xo

    • Hey Megan! Did you let them sit out before scooping? I found the longer I allowed them to sit out, the creamier they got!

  2. I love your honest review! Still haven’t seen these by me. I’m more of a vanilla person than chocolate and love when companies do a vanilla bean! The white chocolate raspberry sounds like a creative choice, I do love the white chocolate rasp carbmaster yogurt so I’d have high expectations for this particular flavor!

    • Hi Jo!The vanilla is definitely a solid choice then! I know they are all over California but maybe just not in your area yet. I love anything white chocolate raspberry myself and would love to get my hands on that pint! I’m also a fan of that flavor of the carbmaster yogurts. Kroger was sold out last time so I’ll have to check again next time. Enjoy your weekend! xo
