Friday Food Finds – Smart Baking Company Review

Happy Friday friends! As you know, I’m always on the lookout for new healthy and delicious products. In this week’s Friday Food Finds, I’m very excited to share my review for the Smart Baking Company.

Smart Baking Company is a small family operated business in Sanford, Florida. The company is dedicated to offering innovative, healthy and wonderful baked products such as the SmartBUN and Smartcake for their customers.

Now you can have your cake and eat it too! Smartcake comes in three delicious flavors – Cinnamon, Chocolate and Coconut. There are two cakes per package. Each cake is 38 calories has 9 grams carbs, 4 grams protein, 5 grams fiber and 2.5 grams fat. Smartcake are also sugar free, starch free and gluten free! The texture of the cakes can be best described as very moist, fluffy, light and bold in flavor!

Think Snickerdoodle Cookie meets Cinnamon Bun! Talk about tasting like fresh out of the oven! This tasty little treat was so moist and full of flavor! I just had to share an up close shot of that cinnamon sugar on top! The cinnamon smartcake would pair beautifully with your morning coffee!

Smartcake is the perfect treat when you’re craving a little something sweet. I turned my chocolate cake into a fun and festive afternoon treat! The icing was plain Greek yogurt, vanilla protein powder and a little almond milk. Don’t forget to add your sprinkles! Smartcake would also be amazing crumbled over ice cream, greek yogurt or for the topping on a protein smoothie!

One bite and you will be transported to the tropics! The coconut is my personal favorite. Light, sweet and fluffy. I’m on a bit of a coconut and pineapple kick lately so I decided to add some crushed pineapple and strawberries to the top of my coconut cake! Pineapple and coconut are a marriage made in heaven!

Smart Bun

I love that each bun is individually wrapped so each one is fresh and soft when you open them! Very soft and flaky! SmartBUNs are 72 calories have zero sugar, are gluten-free and packed with 10 grams of protein! The buns are also high in fiber and omega-3 fatty acids.  Most low carb buns can get soggy. Not these! The bun held up beautifully to my saucy turkey meatball sandwich!

From grill to plate, the SmartBun also held up great under a juicy turkey pesto burger!

Very impressed and looking forward to being a repeat customer of these delicious cakes and buns! It’s a toss up on which Smartcake flavor was my favorite since they were all so good! I’ve already ordered a case of the buns and more of the coconut Smartcake!

Visit Smart Baking Company online to order your buns and smart cakes! They also have an online store locator to find a location near you!

  1. Yet another “new” company! Great to read about these products. Would you compare the texture of the baked goods to the EatMeGuiltFree brownies/blondies? Just curious. And of course I love your icing/sprinkles addition – so fun 😀 My favorite healthy treat = protein muffins from Lion’s Choice and Flapjacked. Oh me, oh my. Happy Friday! xo

    • Hi Liz! Thank you! These are definitely much lighter in weight and not as dense as EatMeGuiltFree blondies/brownies. I like the fact that they are zero sugar and low carb! I can crumble these on my nightly ice cream, greek yogurt or froyo bowl! Happy weekend to you! xo

    • Hi Mom! There is not a current discount code right now. They actually just did one a week ago. I’ll keep an eye out and keep you posted! xo

    • Hi Ashley! Thank you for visiting my blog! Aren’t they too die for! I will definitely reorder both flavors next time around! I just got a new shipment today of the SmartBun and Cinnamon smartcake!

    • Jody! I was in heaven with both the buns and cakes! The cinnamon is so good with coffee and my apple pie greek yogurt! xo
