Friday Food Finds – Yep It’s Vegan Review

Happy Friday friends! Over the years, I’ve tried many different plant based proteins and have yet to find one that I truly enjoy up until today. This week I’m excited to share my full review for Yep It’s Vegan.

Finally! A vegan based protein powder that does not taste like dirt!

Yep It’s Vegan is a whole new demographic for Jason, othewise known as the Slap Prez and the mastermind behind Slap Nutrition. The vegan product line launched a few weeks ago. Both proteins are gluten free and lactose free with zero added sugars. I purchased the Yep It’s A Stack so I could experience both flavors and also the BCAA. It must be noted that the customer service is on point, too. I placed an order in the morning and by the early afternoon, I received an email saying my order has been shipped!

Let’s jump into the review!

Cinnamon Creme

Cinnamon Creme was the first flavor I cracked open. Upon opening the container, you can smell the cinnamon! I decided to try it first in it’s most simplest form, a protein shake. It blends well, with very little grit. If you have never used pea or rice protein, the texture is much thicker and more grainy than other powders. I’ve also put this flavor to the test several times in this waffle recipe with excellent results. More recently, I tried it in my no-bake Cinnanon Creme Sea Salt Caramel cookie recipe! Seriously, so freaking good!

Ingredients: Pea Protein, Rice Protein, Cocoa Powder, Natural Flavor, Cinnamon, Xanthan Gum, Guar Gum, Stevia Leaf Extract

Nutritional Profile: One Scoop: 120 calories, 25g protein, 2g carbs and 2g fat

Gooey Brownie Batter

Finally a plant based protein that is comparable to whey! The Gooey Brownie Batter is hands down one of the best tasting chocolate vegan protein powders I have ever used. The Brownie Batter is much richer and sweeter than the cinnamon. It doesn’t get much better than a fresh batch of brownie batter cookie dough! I’ll be sharing this recipe soon over on my Instagram feed!

Ingredients: Pea Protein, Rice Protein, Cocoa Powder, Natural Flavor, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Chloride, Stevia Leaf Extract, Guar Gum

Nutritional Profile: One Scoop: 130 calories, 25g protein, 4g carbs and 2g fat

Mello Martini BCAA

Mello Martini BCAA contains 3 of your 9 essential amino acids: leucine, isoleucine and valine. This also scored some major bonus points with me- it also contains 1000mg of L- Glutamine! Now let’s get to the flavor! Sweetened with both the stevia leaf and monk fruit extracts, the watermelon is not overwhelmingly sweet. For those that are not a fan of articial colors, the light pink color comes from red beet root juice extract. Another huge win in my book! All in all, BCAA’s are an amazing addition to your supplement stack!

Mello Martini BCAA Jell-O shot anyone?

Okay, so these are not really Jell-O shots! Believe it or not, I’ve never made BCAA gummies before. Three simple ingredients and voila, you have yourself some pretty tasty treats! Enjoy!

    • Hi Jody! Thankfully and knock on wood, no issues with digesting any of the vegan stuff on my end! I would love to know what your favorite protein powder is to use with your baking? xo

  2. This sounds great! I have made gummy bears with BCAAs before, but substituted agar agar to keep it vegan. Just a thought

    • Hi Amy! Using agar agar is a great idea and I never would have thought of that as a substitution! Thanks for visiting my blog!
