How I Improved My Sleep With CBD

If you’re struggling to get to sleep, or stay asleep throughout the night, you’re not alone. It is estimated that approximately 25-30% of the population suffer from some kind of sleeping difficulty. I’m someone who has always struggled with their sleep quality. My patterns were either off due to my work schedule, staying up too late and the biggest culprit of all, stress. If you can relate, read on. I recently came across Medterra (a company that specializes in CBD products) while doing some online research for alternative sleep aids. Wanting to learn more, I connected with the company to try their CBD Dissolvable Sleep Tablet. Today, I’ll be sharing that experience with you.

What is CBD?

CBD (or cannabidiol) is one of over 85 cannabinoids found in cannabis. CBD is present in more significant quantities in hemp than it is marijuana. And because it’s non- psychoactive, CBD is widely regarded to possess incredible health potential.

CBD Sleep Uses & Benefits:

As a sleep aid, CBD is is popularly used to help fight insomnia and improve overall sleep quality. More specifically, it can be used to promote healthy sleep in two ways:

  • Indirectly aiding sleep by improving anxiety, resulting in reduced time to fall asleep and fewer sleep disturbances
  • Directly improving sleep duration and work as a calming, sleep-inducing agent

My Experience:

In order for me to write a fair review, I wanted to try the product for a full month. Before I describe my experience, allow me to share a little bit about the product and how to use it. Medoil Dissolvable Sleep Tablets combine 25mg of CBD with 10mg of melatonin to provide a restful nights sleep. Simply place one of the tablets under your tongue before bedtime and allow it to dissolve before swallowing. Each tablet is scored to allow for the user to consume half of a tablet if they are sensitive to melatonin. I’ve used melatonin in the past with no adverse effects, so I took a full tablet each night a half hour before bed.

After taking the supplement for 3-4 days, I already began to notice a change in my sleep quality. I was falling asleep a lot quicker but more importantly, was sleeping straight through the night. This was a huge deal for me. A typical night of sleep for me generally looked something like this; Bed around 10pm, wake around 1 or 2 am, struggle to fall back to sleep, finally fall back to sleep around 4am only to hear the alarm going off at 6. With sleep patterns like that, it was no surprise that I was lethargic and felt like I needed a nap by 2pm.

My second week was when I really began to see some noticeable differences. Not only was I sleeping deeper and more soundly, if I did happen to wake in the middle of night, I was able to fall back to sleep with no difficulty. I also began waking before my alarm clock went off. No more afternoon slumps either. Over the course of the four weeks, the benefits have been subtle but cumulative. It’s been miraculous. I ran out recently and could most definitely feel the difference without my daily dose.

Overall Thoughts:

I honestly went into trying this product not expecting much. So, I was really surprised at how much it helped me. So if you’re looking for an alternative way to find relief from insomnia and other sleep disorders, CBD may be worth looking into. As always, I recommend doing your own research and talk to a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new supplement routine. I’m just sharing what works for me. Stay healthy and have a good night’s sleep.

  1. Wow! Definitely glad to read that this helped you. I’ve never tried any sleeping aids, since I’m personally weary of them; but again, your thorough, trusted experiences are so great/helpful to read.

    • Hi Liz! I’m definitely not one to rely on sleeping aids either. I was slightly reluctant at first to try CBD but plan to incorporate it more regularly in addition to the CBD oils. Stay tuned, I’m sure I’ll be sharing more on this topic!

  2. So glad to hear you have found relief with the CBD! Not being able to sleep is the worst. I use melatonin pretty consistently & it works for me but probably need to cycle off of it too.

    • PS…have you ever read about the Chinese Body Organ Clock? An interesting take on what our body might be telling us if we wake up at the same times each night.

    • Hi Jo! I have not heard of the Chinese Body Organ Clock. I’ll have to google and take a look at that. Similar to melatonin, I think I will also need to cycle on and off with this too. I’m also thinking of adding in the CBD oil in place of melatonin during those cycles, stay tuned.
