My August Aldi Must Haves

Today I’m taking you shopping with me again. Well, virtual shopping anyway for more of my weekly essentials at one of my favorite places to shop – Aldi! I love Aldi for the price and the quality of their products. The last time I shopped at Aldi, I was blown away by how much the store has evolved and expanded it’s product line to now include more organic foods and produce. It has changed my pantry and fridge completely. So that’s why this week, I’m sharing more of my favorites with you.

My August Aldi Must Haves

Here are My Top 8 August Aldi Must Haves:

Simply Nature Organic Chicken

I don’t buy a lot of meat at Aldi, but one staple item I buy almost every time I go is their organic chicken breasts. At $5.99 a pound, Aldi makes buying organic friendly to your wallet. The Simply Nature and Never Any brands come pretty darn close to the organic chicken I usually buy at Costco. Awesome quality for the price!

Kerrygold Butter

I have heard people rave about Kerrygold Butter, so I got pretty excited when I found it at Aldi. And I just LOVE using this for my baking. Everywhere else it’s around $4-5.00. At $2.85 per 8 oz., it’s an amazing price.

Have you tried Ghee? This one is grass-fed and my local Aldi has recently started to carry it. This is a great alternative if you have dairy sensitivities or are on a Paleo or similar diet. It’s available at a great price, just $7.49 for a 13 oz. jar. As a price comparison, 9 oz. jars of ghee usually sell for $12 in store. Such a a great deal!

Organic Salad Mix

I could have easily listed the entire produce section, because Aldi typically has the best deal on organic  produce overall. I’m a big fan of their Spring Mix. It stays fresh longer than some other brands that I’ve tried in the past. And for about half the price of anywhere else, you can’t really go wrong!

Little Salad Bar- Lemon Orzo Pasta Salad

I love a good orzo salad, and this is one of my favorites because it’s tangy and fresh. This simple orzo pasta salad is perfect for summer picnics, potlucks, and barbecues! I actually bought a few containers for a recent gathering when I was in a time crunch. Such a great deal at $2.99 for a 10.5oz container.

Cranberry Almond Chicken Salad

This is a wonderful item to keep in your fridge for easy lunches. It is a great mix of white meat chicken, cranberries, and almonds with a delicious mayo dressing. I like to have this chicken salad on top of spinach for a large lunch salad.

Happy Farm Honey Goat Cheese

Goat cheese at this kind of an affordable price? Who would say no? One of the best kept secrets of the ALDI chain of stores (among other things) is their very affordable varieties of goat cheese: plain,  honey, and garlic & herbs.  I love all the different flavors,  but most of all I love the price! I always seems to end up with all three in my cart.

Friendly Farms Original Almond Milk

Dairy free milk for $1.89 a half gallon is almost unheard of! Decently creamy, subtly sweet — all in all, it’s a quality almond milk, especially for one that’s mass-produced by a chain supermarket. I always pick up at least two containers for the hubby since he prefers this over my cashew for his coffee and cereal. I also love that Friendly Farms does not add carrageenan to any of it’s milks!

If you haven’t shopped at Aldi- GO! And if there isn’t one near you, they are expanding this year, so keep an eye out! Happy Friday and Happy Shopping!
