Friday Food Finds- Rawmio Gourmet Spreads Review

If you’re anything like me (and if you’re here, you probably are) you love a good nut butter. Whether I’m spreading it on toast, pancakes, or just eating a giant spoonful to squash a sweet craving, there’s nothing I love more than a good nut butter that packs a ton of nutrition and flavor. I recently got the chance to try a few products made by Rawmio, one of the subsidiaries of Windy City Organics,(yes, this is the same company that Veggimins is a part of!) that specializes in raw, vegan and organic products. The team at Rawmio was kind enough to send some samples over and let’s just say, I’m obsessed.

We use only the highest quality, organic ingredients in the making of all of our Rawmio nut butters. We take it one step further by never adding any preservatives to our products. From farm to jar, Rawmio is always chemical free. It is critical that the fats found in nuts and seeds are never heated to “cooked” above 118 degrees fahrenheit. Doing so will transform highly sought after ‘healthy fats’ into avoid-at-all-costs ‘bad fats’.

Every batch is handcrafted and meticulously cared for during a process which takes 24-48 hours. The time and attention may seem excessive, but is well worth the results. A “beyond gourmet” silky-smooth nut/seed butter that still maintains all of its nutritional integrity is something that Rawmio takes great pride in.

Rawmio spreads are offered in six flavors; Hazelnut Crunch, Hazelnut Mint, Hazelnut Coffee, Hazelnut, Almond Superfood, and Almond Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. All of the spreads are vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, grain-free, peanut-free and soy-free Made from certified organic ingredients, none of the spreads contain more than six ingredients.

  • On top of yogurt or ice cream.
  • As a dip for fresh fruit like bananas, strawberries and apples.
  • Spread on toast, bagels, muffins, pancakes and waffles.

Almond Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Almond Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough spread? Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think this could get any more perfect. Cookie dough + raw almond butter = heaven in a jar. Made with raw almonds, coconut sugar, maca, and raw chocolate chips, this tasty spread is reminiscent of real raw cookie dough. There is a generous smattering of raw chocolate chips in this thick, yet smooth almond butter. It has a nice pourable consistency at room temperature and becomes a thickened, almost fudge-like consistency in the fridge. This was delicious on yogurt and by the spoonful. My biggest problem was trying to stop myself from eating the whole jar! Hands down, this was my favorite.

Hazelnut Mint

Creamy and fudge-like in consistency, this literally tastes like you’re eating a Peppermint Patty or Junior Mint straight from the jar. The mint flavor is perfect, strong enough to get the sensation but not overpowering. The ingredient list is short and simple; hazelnuts, cacao nibs, coconut sugar and essential peppermint oil. I loved the decadent taste and used it to make a batch of vegan dark chocolate mint truffles. No worries, I’ll be happy to share the recipe for this tasty treat on my Instagram feed next week!

Hazelnut Crunch

For my Nutella lovers, the Hazelnut Crunch does not disappoint. A perfect balance between chocolate and hazelnut, this has such a depth of flavor and a wonderful sweetness from the coconut sugar and vanilla bean powder. The texture is creamy with a slight soft grittiness from the ground nuts and cacao nibs, almost like a more rustic version of Nutella. The thinner consistency made for the perfect topping on a stack of dark chocolate chip pancakes. Seriously addicting, and slightly dangerous. It’s safe to say I’ve found a new favorite breakfast topping!

  1. This is how long the company has been around: I used to feature their hazelnut spread (plain) on MY blog, hahaha. So cool to see that they’ve expanded their product line, and that the flavors are worthy. Happy Friday!! Xx

    • It’s funny Liz,I actually tried their hazelnut nut butter back in 2014 and didn’t realize it until the package arrived. They have quite the extensive product line now especially with all of the subsidiaries. Worth looking into! xo
