A few years ago, I was introduced to apple cider vinegar by a very close friend of mine. She suggested I look into trying this since I was suffering with some very uncomfortable bloating and digestive issues along with some frequent skin breakouts. Being new to taking a more natural approach with my health, I chose to do my homework first.
What are some of the benefits of apple cider vinegar?
Balancing the body from the inside out is something very important to me. You can incorporate apple cider vinegar very easily into your daily routine and reap some amazing health benefits. When you consume it, it helps keep your body’s pH alkalized while also helping to lower blood glucose levels, promote healthy bacteria growth in the gut, and assist in weight loss. Research has shown that apple cider vinegar acts as a tonic, cleansing the body by stimulating cardiovascular circulation and assisting in detoxifying the liver.
I like to drink a 16 oz. glass of water with 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar first thing in the morning. For those of you new to apple cidervVinegar, I recommend adding a few drops of liquid stevia or a teaspoon of honey to the mix as it has a rather strong taste. Adding a tablespoon into your favorite tea or juice is an easy way to get incorporate it into your diet.
It also makes a great salad dressing. Mix one part olive oil, two parts apple cider vinegar, 1-2 TBS Dijon mustard, stevia and a pinch of sea salt. Voila instant salad dressing!
Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar
My favorite brand is Bragg’s Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, raw, unfiltered, with the ‘mother.’ I found mine at my local grocery store in the organic aisle. Also, most health food stores or vitamin stores carry it as well.
I encourage you to give it a try for the next 30 days! Research shows that it takes 30 days to form a healthy habit.
